Description
Description
The PCF8523 is a low-power CMOS Real-Time Clock (RTC) and calendar optimized for battery-powered applications. It features a 32.768 kHz oscillator, I2C-bus interface with a maximum data rate of 1000 kbit/s, programmable timer and alarm functions, and a backup battery switch-over circuit for power failure detection. The device operates within a voltage range of 1.0 V to 5.5 V and has a typical backup current of 150 nA at 3.0 V. It includes an offset register for clock fine-tuning and supports various clock output frequencies.
