Description
Description
The MAX487E is a low-power half-duplex transceiver designed for RS-485 and RS-422 communications. It features ±15kV ESD protection, operates from a single +5V supply, and supports data rates up to 250kbps. The device includes one driver and one receiver, with a low-current shutdown mode consuming only 0.5µA. Its quarter-unit-load receiver input impedance allows for up to 128 transceivers on the bus, making it suitable for multipoint applications in harsh environments.
