The MAX3221 is a 3-V to 5.5-V RS-232 transceiver featuring one driver and one receiver. It supports data rates up to 250 kbps and includes ±15-kV ESD protection. The device operates with low standby current (1 μA typical) and requires four external capacitors (0.1 μF). It meets TIA/EIA-232-F standards, making it suitable for various applications.
