The A5972D is a step-down switching regulator IC designed for automotive applications, capable of delivering up to 1.5 A DC output current. It features an adjustable output voltage from 1.235 V to VIN, operates with an input voltage range of 4 V to 36 V, and includes internal current limiting and thermal shutdown for protection. The device utilizes a P-channel DMOS transistor with a typical RDS(on) of 250 mΩ and operates at a fixed frequency of 250 kHz.
